경수 연화 장치 - gyeongsu yeonhwa jangchi

 정의

경수 연화장치란 강산성 양이온 교환수지 ( Cation Exchange Resin ) 를 사용하여 원수중에 포함되어 있는 경수성분인 칼슘( Ca ), 마그네슘 ( Mg ) 등을 제거하는 장치이다.

양이온 교환수지는 일정량의 연수를 재수한 다음 소금 (NaCl) 으로 재생시켜 계속적으로 사용가능하게 한다. 

즉 수처리 중 원수(경수)를 Na형의 양이온 교환수지에 통과시켜 원수 중의 Ca², Mg² 를 수지중의 

Na+ 이온과 교환하여 연수를 제조하는 방법이다.

양이온 교환수지의 이온선택성은 Ca² > Mg² > Na 으로서 반응식은 아래와 같고 

이와 같은 방법으로서 NaCl 용액을 통액하면 아래와 아래와 같이 양이온 교환수지가 활성화 되어 계속 사용할 수 있다.

Abstract

이 고안은 양이온 교환수지가 충전되어 있는 연화조를 통과하면서 생성되는 연수를 배출시킬 때 연화 과정에서 발생하는 연화조 내부의 에어도 연수 배출구를 통해 동시에 배출시킬 수 있도록 에어 벤트를 제거하면서 그 위치에 연수 배출구를 형성함으로써 전체 구성을 간략하게 하고 운전 조작을 용이하게 하면서도 펌프의 성능을 최적으로 유지시켜 경수의 공급을 원활하게 하는 한편 양이온 교환수지의 연화조 외부로 자연 유실을 없애 추가 충전에 따른 인적 물적 비용을 절감하여 연화 성능을 최적으로 유지시키게 하는 보일러의 경수 연화장치의 제공을 그 목적으로 한다.
상기의 목적을 실현하기 위해 이 고안은, 연화조 내부의 에어를 배출할 수 있게 상부에 설치되는 에어벤트를 제거하면서, 그 위치에 연수 배출관을 대체하여 설치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 보일러의 경수 연화장치를 제공한다.

Description

보일러의 경수 연화장치 {The water softener for boiler}

이 고안은 보일러의 경수 연화장치에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 양이온 교환수지가 충전되어 있는 연화조를 통과하면서 생성되는 연수를 배출시킬 때 연화 과정에서 발생하는 연화조 내부의 에어도 연수 배출구를 통해 동시에 배출시킬 수 있게 한 보일러의 경수 연화장치에 관한 것이다.

보일러에 연수를 공급하는 경수 연화장치(water softener)는, 양이온 교환수지를 사용하여 원수 중에 포함되어 있는 스케일 형성의 원인으로 경도 성분인 칼슘(Ca), 마그네슘(Mg) 등을 제거하여 배관에 스케일이 형성되지 않게 함으로써 열효율이 증가하여 연료비가 절약될 뿐만 아니라 안전 운전 면에서도 좋게 한다.

스케일의 열전도율이 0.2~0.6 Kcal/mh℃ 인데 비해 강의 열전도율은 40~60 Kcal/mh℃ 로서 커다란 차이가 있는 것으로부터, 스케일이 보일러의 배관에 형성되는 경우에는 열전달이 좋지 않게 되므로 효율이 감소되어 에너지 소비가 늘어나게 되는 것이다.

그리고 계속적인 경도 성분인 칼슘(Ca), 마그네슘(Mg) 등과 같은 불순물의 흡착으로 양이온 교환수지가 포화 상태에 도달할 때 양이온 교환수지에 나트륨 이온(Na+)을 공급하여 주면 양이온 교환수지는 불순물과 나트륨 이온을 치환하여 불순물을 배출하게 됨으로써 양이온 교환수지의 포화 재생이 반복적으로 이루어지게 된다.

구체적으로 보일러에 연수를 공급하는 경수 연화장치는, 도 1에 도시되어 있는 바와 같이, 원수인 경수를 저장하는 고가수조(10)와, 상기 고가수조(10)의 경수를 펌프(20)의 작동에 의해 연화조(40)로 유입시키는 경수 유입관(41), 상기 연화조(40)에서 연화된 물을 연수 저장탱크(50)로 배출시키는 연수 배출관(42) 및 역세 재생에 사용되는 염화나트륨 용액을 공급하는 소금통(60)으로 구성되며, 이 과정에서 밸브(30-1~30-6)는 연화 처리 또는 역세 재생 과정에 따라 적절한 개폐 동작을 하게 된다.

먼저 연화 처리에 있어서는, 고가수조(10)에서 공급되는 경수가 밸브(30-4)와 펌프(20)를 통해 3방 밸브(30-4)가 아래로 열리면서 연화조(40)의 하부에 위치하는 경수 유입관(41)으로 유입되어 내부의 양이온 교환수지층을 통과한 후 연수 배출관(42)을 통해 연수를 배출시키는데, 배출되는 연수는 밸브(30-1)를 통과하여 연수 저장탱크(50)에 저장되었다가 보일러에 공급된다.

다음으로 역세 재생에 있어서는, 소금통(60)에 저장되어 있는 염화나트륨(NaCl) 용액을 이젝터(도면에 도시하지 않음)에 의해 규정 농도(10%)로 희석하여 연화조(40) 상부에서 주입하여 하부로 배출시키고 난 뒤 원수로 수세 배출한다.

(연화 처리) : R - Na + Ca(HCO₃) → R - Ca + NaHCO₃

(역세 재생) : R - Ca + 2NaCl → R - 2Na + CaCl₂

(여기서, R은 이온 교환수지의 고분자 기체임)

상기 연화조(40)의 내부에는, 도 2에 도시되어 있는 바와 같이, 0.7㎜의 직경을 가지며 다수의 구멍들이 고르게 분포되어 있는 스텐레스판을 위치시키고 그 위에 여과포, 자갈, 모래, 여과포 그리고 양이온 교환수지를 적층시켜 구성하는데, 내부의 70~80% 정도를 채우며 상측에는 빈 공간을 형성시킨다.

여기서 보통 직경이 0.5~1.0㎜ 인 구슬모양의 수지(resin beads)로 된 불용성 물질로서 다공성 기포가 많이 있으며 친수성이기 때문에 물을 흡수하는 양이온 교환수지 내에는 이온 교환될 이온이 부착되어 있으며, 양이온 교환수지를 둘러싸고 있는 물 속에 용존된 이온과 교환된다.

또한 연화조(40)의 상부에는 연화 과정에서 발생되어 내부 상측에 모여 있는 에어를 외부로 배출시킬 수 있도록 에어벤트(Air-vent)(43)가 설치되어 있고, 그 아래 빈 공간을 형성하는 일 측으로 연화된 물을 배출하는 연수 배출관(42)이 설치되어 있으며, 그 하부에는 연화시킬 원수로서 경수가 유입되는 경수 유입관(41)이 설치되어 있다.

상기 에어 벤트(43)는, 연화 과정에서 연화조(40) 내부에서 발생되는 에어가 외부로 배출되지 않고 내부의 상측에 채워지게 되면 펌프(20)가 부하를 받게 되면서 경수 유입관(41)으로 유입되는 경수의 유속이 느려지게 되면서 원활한 경수 공급이 어려워질 수 있어 이를 방지하기 위해 연화조(40) 상부를 통해 내부에 체류하는 에어를 간헐적으로 외부로 배출시키게 된다.

그런데 연화조(40) 내부의 에어를 에어 벤트(43)를 통해 간헐적으로 외부로 배출시키기 위해서는 별도 조작이 필요하게 되며 조작이 불충분하거나 잘못 조작하는 경우에는 펌프(20)에 부하가 생기면서 원활한 연수 과정이 이루어지기 어려운 문제점이 있었다.

한편 연화조(40) 내부 상측의 빈 공간을 형성하는 일 측에 설치되는 연수 배출관(42)으로 연화시킨 물이 배출되는데, 이 때 경수 유입관(41)을 통해 유입된 경수가 연화조(40)의 하부에서 양이온 교환수지층을 통과하여 상부로 올라오면서 상부에서 와류를 발생시킨다.

그리고 이러한 와류에 의해 양이온 교환수지가 상기 연수 배출관(42)을 통해 연수와 함께 배출되는데, 지하수 또는 하천수와 같은 원수인 경수를 연화시키는 과정을 거치면서 연화조(40) 외부로 7~10%/년 정도가 자연 유실되어 이를 충전하는데 비용과 노력을 추가로 요구하는 문제점이 있었다.

이 고안은 위의 문제점을 해결하기 위한 것으로서, 양이온 교환수지가 충전되어 있는 연화조를 통과하면서 생성되는 연수를 배출시킬 때 연화 과정에서 발생하는 연화조 내부의 에어도 연수 배출구를 통해 동시에 배출시킬 수 있도록 에어 벤트를 제거하면서 그 위치에 연수 배출구를 대체 설치함으로써 전체 구성을 간략하게 하고 운전 조작을 용이하게 하면서도 펌프의 성능을 최적으로 유지시켜 경수의 공급을 원활하게 하는 한편 양이온 교환수지의 연화조 외부로 자연 유실을 없애 추가 충전에 따른 인적 물적 비용을 절감하여 연화 성능을 최적으로 유지시키게 하는 보일러의 경수 연화장치의 제공을 그 목적으로 한다.

또한 이 고안의 실시 예에 따른 보일러의 경수 연화장치(100)에서 연화조(40)의 경우에, 일 측에 연화된 물을 배출하기 위해 설치되었던 연수 배출관(42)을 에어 벤트의 위치로 옮겨 설치한다.

이로부터 연화조(40)의 상부에 설치되는 연수 배출관(42)으로 연화시킨 연수가 배출되는데, 이 때 경수 유입관(41)을 통해 유입된 경수가 하부에서 양이온 교환수지층을 통과하여 상부로 올라오면서 상부에서 와류가 발생하더라도 그 위에 적층된 여과포, 자갈, 모래, 여과포를 통과하면서 누출되는 양이온 교환수지가 연화조(40)의 상부까지는 이동할 수는 없게된다.

따라서 상기 연수 배출관(42)을 통해 연수와 함께 양이온 교환수지가 배출되지 않게 됨으로써 이를 충전하는데 비용과 노력을 없앨 수 있게 된다.

이 고안은 상기의 실시 예에 한정되지 않으며, 실용신안등록청구범위에 기재되는 고안의 범위 내에서 다양한 변형이 가능하고, 이러한 변형도 이 고안의 범위 내에 포함된다.

Claims (1)

  1. 원수인 경수를 저장하는 고가수조와; 상기 고가수조의 경수를 펌프의 작동에 의해 경수 유입관을 통해 유입시켜 연화시킨 후 연수 배출관으로 연수를 배출하는 한편 연화 과정에서 발생되는 에어를 에어 벤트를 통해 상부로 배출시키는 연화조; 상기 연화조에서 연화된 물을 저장하는 연수 저장탱크; 상기 연화조의 상부에 주입하고 하부로 배출시키는 염화나트륨 용액을 저장하는 소금통; 및, 연화 처리 또는 역세 재생 과정에 따라 적절한 개폐 동작을 하는 밸브;를 포함하는 보일러의 경수 연화장치에 있어서,
    상기 연화조 내부의 에어를 배출할 수 있게 상부에 설치되는 에어벤트를 제거하면서, 그 위치에 연수 배출관을 대체하여 설치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 보일러의 경수 연화장치.
